Emma accidentally discovered live art in 1999 while training as a theatre director at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Since then, she has combined directing theatre with nurturing the beginnings of a solo practice which can loosely be described as performance/installation. Based in London, Emma has been a Pacitti Company research collaborator since June 2003, and was the assistant director of the recent revival of Audiology. When not working with Pacitti Company, Emma is researching Incognegro Ð a piece about race and representation, curating ShowReal Ð a series of 'digital interventions' for transmission on London buses, and developing a game to be played on the streets of the city of Nottingham. This year Emma was awarded two years' fixed-term funding by Arts Council London to support the development of her artistic practice.
