Manick set up and manages the Artists' Advisory Service at Artsadmin. He developed Artsadmin's artists' bursary scheme and its digital media bursary for disabled artists and project managed the decibel visual arts awards. Govinda is also a guest commissioning editor for [a.n] The Artists Information Company and has contributed to its unique new web-site and magazine for visual artists. Previous employment included working for The Paul Hamlyn Foundation where he was instrumental in setting up the foundation's Awards for Artists and supporting many innovative arts education action-research programmes and partnership projects between the arts sector and schools. He also undertook a feasibility study for the English National Opera's Baylis Programme's 4-year education/community residency in the London Borough of Southwark. He began working in the arts in 1986 as an outreach worker for a community based Asian arts project in Newham, a borough where he developed of high profile initiatives such as the Newham Mela Ð a large scale South Asian Arts Festival which attracted up to 25,000 people. He was also a founding editor of a South Asian arts magazine in the 80s, Bazaar, a pioneering arts culture lifestyle magazine profiling contemporary South Asian arts and culture. He is currently editing a publication for Artsadmin entitled "Performing Difference" featuring a number of artists supported by the Artists' Bursary Scheme.
