Working world wide to great acclaim since the late 1980's, Pacitti Company have produced an award winning body of radical new theatre works that have both delighted and challenged audiences around the World. Politicised, inquiring and process driven this unswerving activity has established the Company as one of the leading lights in New British Theatre.

The Company occupies a truly exciting position within the terrain of contemporary British and European theatre. Growing out of queer activism its heritage is as much club land as it is direct action. The Company's work helped define a generation of performers and artists working in London from the late eighties until now.

Pacitti Company's early work was borne directly out of the urgency of the time. As determined loudmouths amongst a new generation of theatre makers, the Company unashamedly shouted its agenda from the rooftops - the struggle was compounded by the AIDS crisis - the remit was change.

As times have changed so too has the Company, although it retains its commitment to producing politically complex work.

The Company is unequivocally process led and its studio-based practice forms the backbone of its operation. Known primarily for its unique visual performance style, the past few years have seen a change of focus for Pacitti Company and a diversification of its outputs. Alongside the continuation of its live work, the Company also engages in applying its formal making strategies to sound and new media based projects, as well as teaching, publishing and curating the work of others. This important plurality of practice allows the Company to place its theatrical vocabulary and aesthetics in new locations, which in turn assists in opening up new audiences for its work.

The mission of The Pacitti Company is:
To pursue excellence in delivering high quality, original works of theatre through engaging in rigorous research and development programmes, resulting in works that are of value to the widest community possible.

The artistic policy of The Pacitti Company is:
To utilise theatre as a mechanism for creating new and dynamic discourses around both society and the artform. The company recognises a difference between Theatre and Drama. It draws upon real experiences of oppression and privilege, in order to make works for the stage that are at once urgent and considered.

The Pacitti Company recognises the intelligence and complexities of audiences and as such strives to produce works that are respectful of this. The company builds upon an internal history of clear aesthetic ambitions and considers it appropriate to engage aspects of Fine Arts, Music, Film, Storytelling, New Technologies, Science, Medicine, Politics, Psychology, History and Philosophy as vital components of its theatre.'
