A SALON ON SAGE
Believed to have properties that aid memory, add flavour and even stop itchy testicles, sage has been used for many centuries as a powerful herb around the world. Join us for a conversation on how sage links a beer, a burn and a modern apothecary here at Pacitti Company, hearing from artist and horticulturalist Carolyn Roy as well as Think Tank associates, at this relaxed, sage-focused salon.
Bottled beer and wine by the glass on sale.
Carolyn Roy is a dancer, writer and landscape designer with a performance practice that explores the body’s meeting with its environment through dancing, walking and stillness and the compositional potential of material that emerges through this encounter. Her work is concerned with attention, perception, and relationships. She is currently in the 3rd year of a PhD research through practice project – ‘The Work of Wandering’ - at Roehampton University. Following horticultural training and work at the Chelsea Physic Garden, for several years she was a partner in plat-form architecture landscape design, and continues to work as a horticultural consultant for urban designers creating gardens in the public realm. Alongside her own projects, (most recently ‘the Telling’, What Remains festival, Independent Dance, London 2016 and Celebrate and Demonstrate, a dancers’ participation in the London May Day rally) she has performed with Gaby Agis and Co, the Pacitti company, Graeme Miller, Tino Sehgal and Joe Moran.
