20 September, 27 September, 4 October, 11 October, 18 October
2 week break
8 November, 15 November, 22 November, 29, November, 6 December
Learn how to use Applique as a tool for making images that represent who we are here in the east of England. Across the course we will hear from visiting experts, about the Quaker tapestries depicting social and political life, the heritage of banners used by Guilds and Trades Unions, street messages sewn during the Women’s Suffrage movement, and more. We will research, plan and sew images together, with a view to these being used as banners during SPILL Festival next year. Suitable for beginner and experienced applique users, and anyone with an interest in civic life.
