Performing Collections is a new strand of Pacitti Company work foregrounding artistic responses to items held within the Ipswich Museum collection.
Artist Season Butler spoke about her work on Performing Collections 1, sharing her thoughts and wayward research into some of Ipswich’s most interesting artifacts.
Season requested lucky charms and talismans to form the Ipswich Museum Fringe on the night. This created a temporary collection that was used as part of the event.
Season Butler is a London-based writer, performance artist and teacher, and an associate producer of the I’m With You art collective. Her artistic interests include the civilised/savage dichotomy, isolation, and the end of the world within the contemporary moment. She studied with shamans, off-duty academics and alone in libraries before undertaking an MA in Creative Writing in 2007. She’s currently reading a PhD in Creative Writing at Goldsmiths College and is an Associate Producer with I’m With You performance collective.
