PERFORMING COLLECTIONS: A ONE DAY SYMPOSIUM

What is heritage? How can artists, thinkers and other members of the community engage with museum collections to explore contemporary issues? And how might that be meaningful to the many varied people of a town like Ipswich?

Performing Collections is a strand of Pacitti Company work responding to items housed within the Ipswich Museum. We set ourselves a challenge to engage diverse communities in thinking about heritage – to investigate new ways of looking at the Museum’s collection, and use it as a prism to explore contemporary issues from multiple perspectives.

This special one-day event brings together Robert Pacitti (artist), Think Tank Associates John Bowers (musician and techno-wizard) and Lucy Walker (archaeologist), to present their recent work, mediated by Johanna Linsley (writer and performer).

We invite you to join us for a day of talks, presentations, screenings and conversation, with the aim of unlocking new narratives around what shared heritage can be.

ALL WELCOME.
