Artists Katy Baird and Lucy Hutson discussed the ins and outs of creating solo autobiographical work that plays with risk, taboos and the politics of the body. 


Topics covered included:  webcams, inappropriate emails and how to make your own strap-on.

Lucy Hutson is interested in making work that questions human nature. Her work has been shown as part of SPILL National Showcase and programed for City of Women festival (Slovenia). Katy Baird is a London based artist and activist who often finds herself in uncomfortable situations of her own making. Katy is also the coordinator at the Live Art Development Agency.

Katy Baird is a London-based artist and activist who often finds herself in uncomfortable situations of her own making. Her solo work is intimate and autobiographical, reflecting on gender, class and sexuality. She has performed at Live Art festivals and venues across the UK as well as squat parties, clubs and raves.
