Join us as we unveil Giovanna Maria Casetta’s exciting new publication and archive project The Retrospective Box – a collection of commissioned writings, conversations, images, film and artifacts.
For the past year Robert Pacitti has been mentoring Giovanna in how best to archive and represent her practice. The Retrospective Box is the result and contains contributions from some of the leading lights in live art.
This relaxed evening of conversations and presentations, hosted by Anthony Roberts and featuring guest speakers Cathy Butterworth and Manuel Vason, will shine light on 20 years of Gina’s live and onscreen practice.
Giovanna Maria Casetta (Gina) is an Ipswich based artist working in performance, film and installation. A constant theme running through her practice is that of fragility and loss.
Giovanna’s recent work involves using physical and psychological forensic processes to determine how fragile memory is and how our contact traces can betray us. In October 2014 Gina restaged A Descent into Glamour as one of the opening events of the SPILL Festival of Performance in Ipswich. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally.
